Favela Street Haïti 2015

This year Favela Street took on a new challenge in the slums of Haïti, Port au Prince.
After an exploring trip to Haïti to meet with local organizations and to connect with the target groups. Favela Street returned this summer to Haïti to organize the Favela Street Week with local partners Sakala and UNDP. 35 Youngsters from Nerete and the biggest slum in Haïti, Cite Soleil joined the project.

In the Favela Street Week the youngsters participated in workshops to become a skilled football trainer and they learned several life skills such as leadership and peace and community building. In the week they also independently organize football tournaments. In these tournaments over 200 kids participated. After finishing their course they received a certificate. The youngsters are now responsible for organizing football activities that contribute to their community.
